CMMB Haiti provides immediate relief and long-term recovery support when natural disasters strike.
Earthquakes, hurricanes, and other disasters exacerbate the challenges inherent in poverty, political instability, and violence. A 2010 earthquake killed more than 200,000 and demolished hospitals, government buildings, schools, and homes in Port-au-Prince. Category 5 Hurricane Matthew battered southwestern Haiti in 2016. Then in 2021, another powerful quake struck nearby, crushing homes, collapsing health facilities, and fracturing entire communities.
Each disaster shatters families, disrupts livelihoods, strains Haiti’s already fragile health system.
CMMB Haiti responds with speed and staying power. Within hours of Matthew and the 2021 earthquake, CMMB Haiti began delivering antibiotics, bandages, hygiene kits, water purification supplies, and other essentials.
In the months and years that followed, we have helped families rebuild their homes and supported the reconstruction and resupply of health facilities.
